Annapolis Shopping: An Overview

Annapolis Maryland is located in Anne Arundel County, a short drive from Baltimore, Maryland or Washington, D.C. It is the beautiful sailing capital of America, known for the U.S. Naval Academy situated on the Chesapeake Bay. The quaint town combines charm with sophistication. Along with the historic attractions, Annapolis shopping offers everything from chain stores to small, distinctive one-of-a kind boutiques.

Annapolis Harbour Center

Situated on Routes 2 and 665, and just off of Route 50 and close to Route 97 is the Annapolis Harbour Center, a collection of stores that will suit everyone’s tastes. In the Annapolis Harbour Center a person will find elegant shopping in stores like Chico’s which has tasteful, casual clothing for women, and Nordstrom Rack offering discounted high-end clothing. Men can find clothing at Jos. A. Bank Clothier, which is suited to the lifestyle in Annapolis. Diva Boutique suits the younger generation with its very stylish youthful clothing, and children will find lots to buy at Justice Just for Girls. There are shoe stores, the Hair Cuttery, Jennifer Convertibles, and a Barnes and Nobles. Don’t forget the wonderful Annapolis restaurants that will provide rest and respite after a day of shopping: Starbucks is a favorite. Lebanese Taverna offers Mediterranean cuisine at an affordable price, and Baja Fresh is a quick and kid-friendly location.

After shopping the family can head to the Pennsylvania Dutch Farmers Market for local, home-grown food. Other restaurants include T.G.I. Fridays, Potty Belly Sandwich Works, or Starbucks.

Annapolis Town Center at Parole

Visit the Annapolis Town Center for more great shopping. Dine at Brio Tuscan Grill, Ziki Japanese Steakhouse, or Cadillac Ranch All American Bar and Grill. There is a Brooks Brothers, Coldwater Creek, Sur La Table, and Talbots. A town would not be complete without Targets, and 24-Hour Fitness is there to keep shoppers in shape.
Whole Foods is a natural for the Annapolis mall. Fresh, organic food can be purchased, as well as prepared items that can be cooked at home or on the docked boat. Of course there are a couple of banks in case funds run low.

Downtown Annapolis

Walk around the historic town and visit the many stores that offer unique items. Free parking vouchers are available at participating stores for shopper’s convenience. Coffee houses, ice cream shops, Realtors, information about lodging and tours, and wine and spirit stores, restaurants, unique boutiques, and information about the Annapolis Boat Show. One of the great attractions is the pleasure boats that pull into Annapolis and dock along the water. The famous Chesapeake Bay work boats are a familiar scene along the downtown Annapolis waterfront. You may even see the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s skipjack tied up next to the old Fawcett’s building.

•Gift shops sell memorabilia and souvenirs
•Along with the Pennsylvania Dutch Farmer’s Market there are shops that sell sweets and baked items

Westfield Annapolis Mall:

One of the largest malls anywhere in the area, Annapolis mall offers new and ever-expanding shopping opportunities. The anchor stores of Nordstrom, Sears, Macy’s, JC Penney, and Lord and Taylor provide the perennial favorites, but wander the halls and find almost anything you want from the Body Shop, to AT&T, to Steak Escape, to Aveda. You want electronics or music, you’ve got it with 11 different stores. The entire Annapolis mall is home to over 240 stores. What are you waiting for, drive on over and you’ll want to spend the day!

Along with peaceful scenery along the Chesapeake Bay, historic tours, and the famous U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis has shopping that will please the most discriminating tastes. There is something for the whole family to enjoy, and making a day out of shopping and eating in Annapolis MD is fun.
